Principle Matters

I should not be but I am still continually shocked by those who embrace a particular person to the extent that they abandon their principles.

Most recently, I have lost numerous progressive followers on twitter because I have criticized President Obama’s policies.

Policies like his support for a Chained CPI and the Keystone Pipeline, that would have my fellow progressives looking for their pitchforks if Obama were a Republican.

Sigh … go ahead … color me naive.

  4. I am not a fan of his either...however I am not sure that a President who could match my own beliefs would ever truly be accepted in the White House. I am often the lone progressive in rooms filled with conservatives...what they don't know is that I am even more progressive than they believe. Align me with Obama? Muhahahaha...if they think he's bad, they should see what I would do. He is generally too conservative. :) Yes, this is why I could never be a political candidate in the US.

    1. So nice to see you about my friend. Obama is truly more of a moderate Republican than progressive. He has done positive things yet still has not pushed for issues near to my heart like eliminating the cap on taxable Social Security income. We struggle forth...

  5. Valuing a person over principle is what let Jerry Sandusky get away with molesting children for years. It's slavish idolatry, and it's wrong.
